For the past 50 years, the Secondary School of Catering and Tourism has had its domicile in Izola and offered widely open doors to thousands of students interested in the specific knowledge about catering and tourism. Many successful workers in catering and tourist trade, numerous entrepreneurs and other skilled individuals came from its classes.

A visit to the Slovenian coast cannot be complete without indulging in excellent fish dishes prepared in a traditional way. The Bujol Inn is definitely one of the most specific and authentic facilities by its location, outfit and offer; you can find it in the central part of the old Izola town core.
The inn was taken over in 2009 by Alen Pušpan, who gained his experience and knowledge from the family business 'Salladia', which was engaged in preparation of fancy sea foods. So is the Bujol Inn, offering their home made delicacy appetizers, such as anchovies in lemon, pickled sardine in vinegar and olive oil, home-made dried codfish, and Adriatic octopus salad. The inn adapt their daily offer of dishes to the current catch from the Slovenian sea, including cod goulash, brodet (fish soup) and bobiči (sweet corn minestrone).
