The activities taking place in connection with the sea are numerous and beyond doubt, very interesting and instructive for many individuals. A more detailed knowledge of sea food farming and fishery, the nutrition and culinary values of marine organisms will contribute to better recognisability/appreciation of fish food. An improved understanding of sea-food acquiring and the effort that has to be put into such procedures will raise our awareness of the advantages of including sea food in our nutrition.
How do we catch fish in our sea? What fishing techniques do we use? Which fish and seafood do we catch and breed? What is the nutrition and culinary value of these marine organisms?
You will find out all that and much more on this informative, thematic journey at sea along the Slovenian coast.
Renowned experts in the field of marine biology and food technology with years of experience in the farming, fishing and processing of marine fish will introduce you to the economic and nutritional significance of marine fish caught in our Adriatic sea. The programme will include visits to various partners who are engaged in marine fishing and accompanying activities, such as net sewing, farming of freshwater and seawater fishes and shellfish, as well as visits to the renovated Aquarium and Maritime museum in Piran and the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park. Of course, there are too many tempting sights for a single day, so it is left to an individual interested group to pick out their own sights from the set of partners, or extend our fishing adventure by a two-day vacation.
We are convinced that you will leave us with pleasant impressions and new knowledge that you can pass on to your homes, workplace and friends. And what is more, that you will enjoy in marine food and include it more often on your menu. By doing so, you will do a lot for yourself and for your health.
